Another good symbol of life at sea is the rope. You can buy several meters of these big nylon and have it designed along the sides of your wall painted either in white or blue.  If you have a bar, this rope can be used as an added design on the side of the bar counter.  You can also create a rubber boat side protector, painted with the name of a vessel like U.S.S. Thunder or any name you fancy about. You can place this along the sides of your bar, to compliment your rope design.  This will give your bar a ship side concept to naturally compliment the other parts of your nautical design of your receiving room.

Your nautical concept can further be complimented by hanging in your receiving room a large sea inspired painting. A large galleon ship will be alright. And you can also add an oil painting of a lighthouse done by Thomas Kincaid, one of The foremost painter when it comes to lighthouses.  If you want a more authentic and graphical presentation, you can add further blown up pictures of under sea creatures and sceneries. You can browse the internet for sites that sells digital pictures of colorful and exotic deep sea marine life.  And to further
Enliven your nautical décor, you can also display on your corner shelf giant decorative shells that you can find in gift stores.
